“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to to kill, and a time to hear; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh...”
For a long time now, this sequence of verses has been an anthem in my life. It has taught me that when when God is at work in your life, there are certainly ups and downs and that the roller-coaster can sometimes feel like it will never end.
In these times, I try to find an anchor of hope that I know is true--something about him that I know that no matter what, will remain. Falling back on His Love is a good one. But what about something like His plan? You see, God has a plan and that plan included you and I. His plan started way before we were born, and it will go on until the end of time. God is the most OCD person you can think of--it’s his passionate character. Sometimes when I look at the way the world is unfolding around me, I can’t help but imagine how crazy it must drive him for things to happen the way they do.
What I find interesting about God’s plan is that no matter how rocky the storm, he sticks with it because he knows that it will eventually turn for better. This is the kind of Kingdom mentality that we have to possess.
NO MATTER WHAT--THIS WILL END UP GOOD.
This truth has kept me going in some of my darkest times and it keeps me going when I’m perfectly content too. I guess it just helps to know that if things aren’t going as planned, it truly is only a matter of time before my perspective sees the good, before revelation shows me how I can see my circumstance through God’s eyes of goodness, and how much he loves me.
